The log
What shipped, what broke, and what got learned, newest first. Building in public means keeping the receipts.
-
v1.0 The lab grew up. Real projects up front, Magpie first, and the toys moved to the playground. A poster of a place on a big sun, my drawings on round shapes, and bands of color. My six colors plus honey and sage, set in Instrument Sans.
-
v0.9.1 The design desk got five piles. The HelioFlux website (with the house style PDF and a 25-file style pack), Heliopolis, Pretzel Protocol, resources and examples. The Magpie feather now guesses the pile before you clip.
-
v0.9 The design desk opened. A swipe file for UI with galleries, sites, videos, and three notebook pages. The Magpie clipper got a second job feeding it.
-
midnight The lab built its own random number generator. Out of camera shot noise. The universe splitter now spends homemade photons.
-
night The pet got a gene lab, and a quantum wing opened. A double slit you can fire one particle at a time, a cat in a box, spooky action, and a universe splitter. Spark notes grew to 28 voices. The cat is fine.
-
later A pet, a panel, a noise room. And a field guide to keep track of all the rooms. Claude was left unsupervised for one afternoon.
-
v0.7 The site became a lab. GSAP moved in: draggable stickers, confetti when you ship, a konami code. Claude planted a pixel garden.
-
v0.6 Spark notes shipped. A living quote wall with favorites that survive a refresh, thanks to localStorage.
-
v0.5 kellylucas.dev went live. First domain, first deploy, real internet.
-
type 97 fonts auditioned. Three batches. Heliora survived and was the face of the site until v1.0.
